There was complete silence in the room as Mama stood up and came over to me and Maggie. Standing behind where we were seated, Mama placed a hand on each of our shoulders and said, “Children, look at your baby with different eyes. You can see what I see if you try.”
I glanced over at the stroller and saw that Layla was asleep.
Mama continued, “This baby has come from heaven, you will see. Give her some time and you will see.”
I was just shaking my head back and forth when Mama said, “There will come a day when she will show you who she really is. She’s just a baby now, but she has already been showing me, and she’s been showing you too, Maggie. She’s been showing you in your dreams for a while now.”
Maggie glanced over at me and said, “Yes, that is true, Mama.”
I said, “Those were just dreams. That doesn’t mean anything!”
Mama continued to stand behind us. I could feel a strange warmth in her hand and a peace was overtaking my body and mind. My eyes were slowly closing as I drifted into some kind of a trance.
