The next thing I remember, she was nibbling on my ear. It was early and just as I was about to roll over and go back to sleep she said, “You know, you’re pretty cute for an older guy.”

“I’m six months older than you!” I said, half ignoring her.

“Hmmm, you got your ID to prove that, mister?”

“Older guy, huh?”

“You really don’t remember, do you?” she asked.

“Remember what?” I said.

“Silly, it’s your birthday next week!”

“Oh hell, Maggie, that’s not until next Friday. Why are you waking me up at 6am to tell me that?”

“Oh, a grouchy older guy!” she fired back.

“Why are you up so early?” I asked.

“I’m going to run down to the bakery when they open to get some croissants. You go back to sleep. I’m craving some fresh baked goods!” And with that she bounced out of bed.

So after a slow morning of lulling around, as Maggie was making breakfast, she called out from the kitchen, “Okay, so what is it about this dream?”
