“Okay,” Maggie said, “see you around 10am.”
“Can’t wait to love on my little angel!” Mama said.
Hanging up the phone, we heard Layla waking up in the nursery and right on cue Layla was letting us know that she was ready to go see Mama too.
“Wow, she must have heard Mama’s voice. Not a peep out of her all morning!” Maggie said as she walked towards the nursery.
“Uncanny how those two are connected!” I said as I joined Maggie on her way to say good morning to the now very vocal Layla.
We both entered the nursery to find Layla standing up in her crib, and as Maggie entered the room Layla said, “Mama!”
“I can’t believe she’s talking so much now! This just started on the farm last weekend,” I said as I lifted her out of her crib.
“I know, crawling, talking, she’ll be walking before you know it,”
Maggie said.
As I gave Layla a big kiss on her cheek, she said, “Dada!” and Maggie and I both laughed as I carried her out of the nursery to greet the new day!
