“I wanted to, I know, I’m sorry, but Mama said it wasn’t time to tell you, that the time to tell you would come and I’d know when that was. So I worked with Mama to understand the dreams. There were three of them. It was amazing, Jimmy, so amazing, and Mama helped me to understand what was happening.”
“So is now the time to tell me?” I asked.
“Yes, baby, now is the time to tell you,” Maggie said as she squeezed my hand.
“Okay, I’m all ears.”
“Well, if you don’t mind, I’d like to get up and eat a little breakfast and then take a walk. I want to tell you what is going on but I want to tell you at this perfect place that I found.”
“What perfect place? I asked.
“It’s the Church of Saint Francis over on State Street. You know, it’s a little cathedral. It’s really beautiful and peaceful and Mama is always singing that Prayer of Saint Francis in French, so it just came to me to tell you there. Do you mind?”
“No, hon, I don’t mind. Let’s go.”
