Maggie looked over at me and said, “You mean you’re going to keep her in the shop with you, Mama? Are you sure?”
“Yep, I’m sure. It’s time!” Mama said.
“I’d like to be there with you for awhile. I can rearrange my work schedule to be there for a few hours in the mornings,” Maggie said.
“Okay, well, let’s make a plan to start this just as soon as you can,” Mama said.
I looked at Maggie and we nodded in agreement and then I said, “I can change my schedule too, Mama.”
“Okay, then it’s settled. Let me know when y’all want to start and we’ll get Layla ready for what she came here to do,” Mama said, and then she hugged us goodnight and disappeared into the still crowed hall.
Gathering up our things I realized we were about to start on another part of this journey, and wondering where we would end up I said to Maggie, “Well, this isn’t exactly a normal day care situation, now is it?”
Maggie laughed and said, “Normal, what’s that?”
