“You know, I suppose you’re right. I really hadn’t thought about that!” Maggie said.

Glancing over my shoulder at Layla asleep in her car seat, I said, “Maybe Mama will have some ideas, but I have a feeling that we’re in for a very interesting ride with Miss Fancy Pants back there!”

Maggie laughed. “Miss Fancy Pants! That’s a new one!”

“Works for me,” I said as we both laughed again.

We arrived in New Orleans just in time for the 5pm traffic and decided to return the car to Lisa and hang out with her to wait out the typical two-hour snarl.

As we pulled into Lisa’s drive, Maggie said, “Let’s keep what happened on the farm between us.”

“Good idea!” I said.

Maggie tapped the horn on the car and Lisa soon appeared. Smiles and big hugs ensued and we were invited to stay for dinner.

Unloading the car was a bit challenging for me with all the stings on my hands, so Lisa helped as I explained I’d had a little run-in with some hornets. I didn’t take the story any further.

Maggie and Lisa entertained themselves with Layla as I decided to take a little nap.
