“Uh, yes Mama, and, well we just wanted to talk with you about that. Can we meet with you sometime soon? Maybe we can meet you at the shop or…”

“Oh, no, just come over to the house and we can have some of Mama’s special tea!” she said.

I silently mouthed out the words “special tea” to Maggie, kind of smiling, kind of not smiling.

Maggie shrugged and put her hands up.

“Okay, Mama, that would be great. When can we meet? What time should we come over?” Maggie said.

“Oh, how about around 6pm?” Mama said.

Maggie glanced over at me and I gestured okay.

“Mama, what is your address?”

“I live on Basin Street across the street from the Saint Louis. Look for the house with the big oak tree and all my little babies in the front yard,” Mama said.

Then she hung up.

“Little babies?” I said to Maggie, as we both just stared at the silent cell phone sitting on the kitchen counter.

“Across the street from the Saint Louis?” Maggie said.

“The Saint Louis Cemetery is on Basin Street,” I said a bit nervously.

“Oh my,” Maggie whispered. “Oh my.”
