The last pages of drawings are destroyed but the last page of symbols states that Holy Woman and Child of Light came from another world to save the people from the great flood, which they refer to as the ‘Sea of Fear.’

“Then here at the very bottom of the page, it says Child of Light will return to the people of Nubia when the world is again overtaken by the ‘Sea of Fear’ to once again show the people the way to safety.”

Mama closed the papyrus manuscript and looked me straight in the eyes and said, “Mr. Jim, please hand me Child of Light.”

I looked at Maggie, she nodded and I passed Layla to Mama, and as I did, she held Layla in her arms and sang in a strange language what sounded like a lullaby. With tears streaming down her face, she said in her best Cajun, “We are here, child, we are here.”
